The cows are fed a TMR (total mixed ration) consisting of grass silage, supergrains (a by-product of the brewery industry), straw, minerals and molasses. This, combined with a concentrate fed in the parlour, provides the cows with all the dietary componants that they need for good health and milk production.
The cows are fed twice each day when the shed is empty and they are being milked.
