This is a picture of a young calf entering the feed station to be fed its milk. The calves can enter the station freely but will only be fed if they are actually due a feed. The machine regulates all the feeds and even alerts you if a calf has had too much or too little milk. The milk is mixed from a powdered solution at a constant temperature of 40oC which is just right for a small calf. The calves are fed on a little and often basis which simulates their behaviour if they were on their mothers.
