Downanhill Cottage - Getting There

Getting there from the Information Centre

From Ayr TIC,Take the A77 South, heading for Girvan,Ballantrae is approx 11 miles south of Girvan. Go through village and over Stinchar bridge, take 1st right. Then 1st right again. This is a no through road. Pass Holmpark Farm and follow on until you reach Downan Farm on your left. Carry on through the steading and go round a blind right hand bend. Langdale farm is situated on the right. Downan buildings and our buildings are joined together. Downanhill Cottage is at the very end of this road.

Getting There by Railway

From Girvan Railway Station, head south on A77 for 11 miles to Ballantrae. From Stranraer Railway Station, head north on A77 for 17 miles to Ballantrae. Before crossing River Stinchar turn left then right. This is a no through road and we are situated approximately 1 mile on the right, just past Downan Farm, Alternatively arrange prior to arrival by telephone to be picked up from Girvan by Owner.

Getting there by Aeroplane

From Glasgow Prestwick Airport, head south on A77 for Ayr, Girvan, then Ballantrae. Straight through Ballantrae village, cross River Stinchar, turn first right and then first right again. This is a no through road and we are situated approximately 1 mile on the right, just past Downan Farm.

Getting There by Ferry

From Stranraer Ferry Terminal, head north on A77 for 17 miles to Ballantrae. Before crossing River Stinchar turn left, then right. This is a no through road, we are situated approximately 1 mile on the right, just past Downan Farm.
